Keith Urban Enlists Carrie Underwood for

Keith Urban's upcoming album Ripcord is bound to turn some heads with its inclusion of a rap verse by Pitbull and guitar work by legendary producer Nile Rodgers, but his latest guest announcement for the album is much closer to home.

Singer Carrie Underwood joins Urban on a song called "The Fighter," which was co-produced by busbee (Maren Morris, Lady Antebellum) and Urban. Recalling a time when they toured together and shared the stage for a song, Urban felt like Underwood's voice would fit his vision for the tune.
"I’ve always loved singing with her," says Urban, who will conclude his tenure as an American Idol judge tonight, in a statement. "We had written this song, 'The Fighter,' that needed a female voice and Carrie’s voice immediately came to mind. I can’t wait for people to hear it — and hope that we get to do it live.”
Due out May 6th, Ripcord also features hits "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" and "Break On Me" in addition to Urban's current single "Wasted Time" and the Pitbull collaboration, titled "Sun Don't Let Me Down." In June, Urban will embark on his Ripcord World Tour 2016 with guests Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris supporting.
